Headquartered in Glasgow, Clyde Munro is Scotland's leading dental practice consolidation platform.
Synova has provided capital to support the buy-in management buy-out of the Clyde Munro Group. The team is led by CEO, Jim Hall, and Non-Executive Chairman, Steve Duncan, former Executive Director of Alliance Boots. Synova’s investment facilitated the platform acquisition of a group of practices based in the West of Scotland and provided significant further capital for investment to build the leading dental group in Scotland.
Clyde Munro operates a ‘hub and spoke’ model across Scotland, pairing local community dental practices with specialist referral centres for more complex treatments. This model ensures the Group is able to provide leading quality, bespoke care to all patients, and cater for the full range of complexity of treatment required for each case.
Synova has invested in Clyde Munro alongside the existing principal dentists and the new senior management team.
CEO – Clyde Munro
“Synova’s investment represents an exciting step-change in Clyde Munro’s plans to create the leading dental group in Scotland. Throughout the transaction it was obvious that the Synova team really understood the healthcare sector and in particular the dental market. Their commitment and focus on clinical outcomes was key to partnering with them.”
Synova and the management team identified that the Scottish dental sector as an attractive investment prospect which has historically poorly served by the larger corporates who have lacked a dedicated focus on the particular dynamics of the Scottish market.
Joining Clyde Munro offers practices an opportunity to hand over the dual burdens of practice and regulatory management, freeing up dentist’s time to treat patients, whilst retaining the community identity of the practice.
The Group will deliver forward-thinking, modern approach to dentistry, expanding access to local community dentistry and supporting local practices to operate to the highest clinical standards and also to offer greater flexibility and choice to patients, thereby improving the patient experience.
Synova’s investment will support the management team in consolidating the Scottish dental landscape to create the leading Scottish dental group. Synova will also provide capital for investment in equipment and treatments to ensure the Group continues to remain at the forefront of patient care.
