David is a Managing Partner of Synova Capital. Prior to co-founding the firm during 2007, David spent a number of years within a subsidiary of WPP and a prominent family office investment firm, where he was responsible for managing UK investment strategy. David’s track record includes a number of highly successful mid-market transactions in the UK. He is a Non-Executive Director of Clearwater Care and served as a Non-Executive Director of dbg. David is focused on the Financial Services and Healthcare sectors.
Philip is an experienced investor in growing UK companies. Prior to co-founding Synova Capital in 2007, Philip worked at Phoenix Equity Partners. Prior to this, Philip advised private equity houses and mid-market companies on UK acquisitions whilst working at UBS and Dresdner Kleinwort. Philip is a Non-Executive Director of TLG Brands, Clearwater Care and Kinapse. He oversees the Technology and Consumer Brands sectors.
Alex joined Synova Capital during 2011. He has over 15 years’ experience of successfully investing in and supporting UK mid-market companies. Prior to joining Synova Capital, Alex spent a number of years at Lloyds TSB Development Capital (LDC) and 3i plc investing in businesses across the UK. Alex is a Non-Executive Director of Mandata and MK Test and oversees Synova’s strategy in the Business Services sector.
Tim joined Synova Capital in 2014 and has a broad range of investment experience across the UK mid-market. Prior to joining Synova, he was a Partner and Head of Healthcare and Education at Phoenix Equity Partners. Tim also spent several years advising and supporting companies whilst working for Close Brothers Corporate Finance and for PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Tim is focused on the Healthcare and Education sectors.
Laura joined the Synova team in 2009 having worked as a Personal Assistant in a variety of capacities since graduating in 2005 with a BA from the University of Roehampton. She is responsible for managing the office as well as providing administrative support to the senior team.
Prior to joining, Daniel spent four years at Zouk Capital, a private equity and infrastructure fund manager, where he served as Finance Manager & Head of Compliance. Daniel previously served in the Finance teams at Samena Capital and Man Group Plc, both investment managers. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Ernst and Young, where he spent five years in the investment management team. Daniel is also a Managing Partner at Synova Capital.
Majid joined Synova Capital as Financial Controller during 2014. Prior to joining, Majid worked at Augentius Fund Administrators, where he managed a portfolio of private equity funds. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over nine years of experience in financial reporting and fund accounting.
Scott joined Synova Capital as an Investment Manager during 2013. Prior to joining the team at Synova, Scott spent 6 years at KPMG working on a number of transactions in the retail, consumer and telecoms sectors. He is a Non-Executive Director of MK Test. Scott holds a BA in Finance, Accounting and Management from the University of Nottingham and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Zac joined Synova Capital as an Investment Manager during 2013. Prior to joining Synova Capital, Zac advised private equity houses and UK mid-market companies on company sales, acquisitions, management buy-outs and growth capital fundraisings whilst working in the M&A team at Catalyst Corporate Finance and at the investment banking division of PwC. He holds a Masters in Software Engineering from Birmingham University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Charles joined Synova Capital as an Investment Manager during 2014. Prior to joining, Charles worked as an Analyst at Gresham Private Equity, where he focussed on lower mid-market UK buyouts. Charles holds a Masters in Finance and Investment and a BA in Business Economics, both from the University of Exeter.
Prior to joining, Jack completed a BA in Politics, Philosophy & Economics at the University of Oxford.
Matthew joined Synova Capital as an Investment Manager during 2014. Prior to joining the team, Matthew worked at KPMG, providing due diligence, valuation and lead advisory services to clients across the technology, construction and financial services sectors. Matthew holds a BA in History from the University of Oxford and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
